About

Hello, and thanks for visiting! On my site, you’ll find a selection of articles related to my interests and passions. I am blessed to have worn many hats in life, including: husband, father, son, teacher, coach, mentor, programmer, consultant, speaker, author, artist, musician, athlete, and fan. It seems like a lot, but it mostly just means I’m old. In all seriousness, when something interests me, I don’t shy away from exploring it. I even did short stints as a realtor and minister in my 20’s.

Professionally, I absolutely love what I do, and I pursue it passionately. My work experience includes:

  • About 25 years as an IT consultant for an full service IT provider headquartered in Evansville, IN. I have been a programmer (RPG, PowerBuilder, Java, C#, ASP.NET, HTML & JavaScript, SharePoint), a project manager, a director of a development business area, and a Microsoft Certified Trainer. My current role is Director of Business Development, where I focus on new products and services, as well as developing business in Nashville, TN.
  • For about 13 years, I co-lead our local SharePoint and .NET meetups. I presented at several other groups and conferences in the region, as well as some national events. I held certifications in multiple versions of SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Java, and other technologies.
  • For 12 years, I was an advisory board member and adjunct professor at Vincennes University.
  • As a writer, I have been a corporate blogger, personal blogger, ghost writer, e-book author, and contributor to technology related magazines, web sites, and certification prep books.
  • I am a long time student, practitioner, and mentor of content marketing and lean digital product development. Aside from programming, my strengths are in writing, content marketing, and business development.

I’m very excited about my current role — both developing new products and services, and networking in Nashville. I’m excited to continue to write about this stage in my life — what I learn and what I enjoy. I look forward to sharing more of my passion projects with you. Please reach out and let me know what you think. It is great to connect with new people.
